Dr Gen Ford is a Board Director of Singlehood Australia  and a panellist at our inaugural Single Talk event. Gen was recently on ABC Life Matters with  Tegan Taylor discussing the Finder.com report which identified the economic disadvantage faced by single people. Not only is there a gap of over $19,000 in savings capacity, the report identifies a disproportionate level of stressors on single people including housing, travel, superannuation, the emotional load i.e. the energy it takes to live alone, and the costs of major life events. As Gen noted "Those stresses are felt disproportionately by single people because there is less of a buffer in place to deal with crises when they come up." Listen to the full conversation here
