On the Radio

We were on the radio this week – Donna Ward, CEO Singlehood Australia with Adam Stephen on ABC Radio, Far North Queensland, discussing the recent report from Finder.com. It can be difficult to save for unexpected events, holidays, future goals, or retirement, after paying basic living costs. In fact, the report shows a difference in savings between a single person and a person with a partner is $19,260.
While some people are still calling it the Singles Tax, our CEO explained, “We don't call it the singles tax at Singlehood Australia because it's only part of what we call the Singlehood Penalty. It certainly includes the financial disadvantage, but using the word penalty helps us to include all those other factors that go into living life on a single income.”
