Roam-Ants: Disrupting the Romantic Narrative

Canadian autistic artist and author-illustrator, Benjamin Lachapelle (AKA the, AnimalKnower) offers a unique, quirky perspective on love and romance, in his latest book Roam-Ants

Encouraging everyone to be the best version of themselves, Lachapelle challenges the notion our relationship status ensures our happiness and wellbeing. It invites readers to embrace the many ways to live a fulfilled, independent life.

The foreword of Roam-Ants is written by the well-known, highly respected Dr.Yuthika Girme, Associate Professor at Simon Fraser University. Dr. Girme says, When I first read Benjamin Lachapelle’s book all I could do was smile ear-to-ear, because Benjamin was preaching (or rather, drawing and writing) to the choir.

Dr. Girme is fascinated by what makes single and coupled peopled feel secure and satisfied in their lives. Her research shows how much pressure society lays on people to find 'the one', and how isolating this message can be for single people. You can read all her research here.

Celebrating neurodiversity, this book gently guides us on building a rich, meaningful life regardless of our relationship and parental status.

You can purchase Roam-Ants through Amazon.com or if you are in Australia, order it through ReadingsOnline.
